Did you have a tough week, and just need to relax? Then tubing is the perfect water activity for you! It’s easy to forget your troubles as you let the water glide you down the river.
Exploring Lake Jocassee by Boat
It was no coincidence that the Lake Jocassee Gorges were ranked by National Geographic as one of the “World’s Last 50 great Places”. The nature surrounding Lake Jocassee is absolutely gorgeous, and it’s easy to explore the area by boat.
… Or by kayak
If you are just taking a one or two person trip to lake Jocassee, then it may be better to rent a kayak. You won’t be able to explore as much, but you can take in the views at a slower pace.
Sliding Rock is a favorite stop for Greenvillians that are driving through North Carolina. It’s fun to slide down the rock, but brace yourself, because the water is cold!
If natural water slides aren’t your thing, then a water park might be a better fit for you and your family. There are smaller water parks around Greenville like Discovery Island and Otter Creek, or bigger ones farther away such as Lake Lure or Lanier Islands Water Park.
There’s no better way to get into the spirit of American culture than by cooking out hamburgers and hot dogs by the lake.
White Water Rafting
If you are a little more adventurous, head up to the Nantahala for some white water rafting. It’s a great opportunity to have fun and spend some quality time with friends and family.
Westside Aquatic Center
Unfortunately, it’s not always sunny in South Carolina. There will be summer days where it rains too, and on these days, it’s good to know that there is a big indoor pool to play in!
Paddle boarding is becoming more and more popular around Greenville. So, why not hop on a board, and see what all of the excitement is about?
Paris Mountain State Park
If you can’t afford to spend a lot of time in the car, Paris Mountain is an ideal place to get wet during those hot summer months. You can swim, paddle boat, canoe, and kayak.
