This week we’re pleased to introduce you to Angelika Kiff, our Relocations team leader. Angelika is German, but has lived in the U.S. since 1989. She came here with her husband, an American in the military who was stationed in Germany. As a couple they enjoy traveling to the beach, Clemson athletics (even when Clemson plays Syracuse and her husband roots for the other team!), listening to podcasts about health and true crime (as long as there’s a resolution – nothing unsolved, please), watching some favorite shows on Netflix, and vegan cooking.
After so many years in America, many Germans do not realize right away that she is a compatriot. She has embraced life in Greenville and enjoys the friendliness of the people, the beauty, and the proximity to both beach and mountains. She enjoys visiting the many state parks, strolling around Charleston, and going on bike rides. Mostly, she loves to spend time with her family. She and her husband have two adult sons and a daughter-in-law whom they completely adore and see as often as possible.
Although Angelika has been here a long time and loves it, there are still things she misses in Germany, such as all of her family still there, the bread, and being able to walk everywhere. Angelika enjoys working at Wetzel Services because of the variety within her job and the fact that she gets to speak German on a regular basis. She also loves the environment, as it feels like coming to work with family. She is largely responsible for this feeling, as Angelika is the rare person who is able to combine a high standard of attention to detail with great empathy. She makes everyone feel included and cared about. We’re all very grateful to that young soldier who brought her to us!
