Quarterly Update, Winter 2019

Quarterly Update, Winter 2019

Dear expats and friends,

Happy New Year! Do you remember what your first weeks in the U.S. were like? The flood of appointments, emails, phone calls, paperwork, purchases, passwords…all in new places, with new people, and all in English?

Our three divisions — Relocation, Realty, and Language —  offer seamlessly assimilated services, helping newcomers quickly settle in to life here. This month, one of our clients is an Argentinian expat family relocating to Greenville for a work assignment with a Tier 1 automotive supplier. To make their relocation smooth and comfortable, one of our native Spanish-speaking team members will accompany the family on an area tour, school tours, and housing search with one of our licensed real estate agents. She will translate for them as needed and advise them on life here in Greenville, based on her own experience as a South American expat with children. We will also offer the family English lessons and intercultural training, at their convenience.

This is the first of our quarterly updates for 2019, designed to update you about the ways that Wetzel Services can help you live more successfully in the Upstate, whether you are brand new in town or have called it home for some time now. Here’s a word from each of our three divisions:

Wetzel Languages

The Reaching Agreement (Skilled English Series) class starting this week is full, but we still have a few seats open for the winter American Conversations class for expat spouses starting Feb. 14, and for the spring Professional English Course starting March 11, for anyone wanting to improve business English skills.

Learning a new language is a popular New Year’s resolution! We can help you improve your English, German, Spanish, French, Portuguese or Italian this year — or start from the beginning. Ask Susannah, our Language Manager ([email protected]), to match you with one of our top-notch private teachers or register you for an interactive group class.

Wetzel Realty

Pro tip: house prices tend to drop in the winter. But inventory runs lower, too — so it can be tough to find what you want.

Are you thinking about buying, selling, or renting a house in 2019? Our realty team is here for you! We know the Greenville area market and can help you search, plan and negotiate. Email [email protected] or call Jacki, our Broker-in-Charge, at 864-627-9004.

Wetzel Relocations

Did you know that we help expats from a number of international companies who are in their first days here by booking temporary housing, arranging car rentals, and having bilingual team members accompany them to their appointments at banks, Social Security, and the DMV? Angelika, our Relo leader, and her team are experts on the nitty-gritty details of setting up life in a new country. Email [email protected] if we can help you or someone you know with relocation to the Upstate.
