Aurubis Relocation Checklist

  • Contract finalized with Aurubis HR (including rental allowances).

  • Work with KPMG on getting your Visa and set up Embassy visit. KPMG can also answer any questions related to taxes, salary and contract.

  • Connect with Wetzel Services to begin services (once official authorization is provided by Aurubis Richmond HR). Submit Relocation Questionnaire.

  • Decide on best week for Look and See visit (discuss with Wetzel Relo and HR. Typically 4-6 weeks before contract date is best)

  • Schedule travel details for Look and See with HR: flight, rental car, hotel (Crown Plaza typically reserved).

  • Schedule appointments for Look and See week with Wetzel (welcome meeting, bank, school appointments, rental tours, and Intercultural Training).

  • Bring following items/prepare for the Look and See trip: Passports, Visa (if applicable), phone with appropriate international service.

  • Look and See Trip -

    • Attend Welcome Meeting with Wetzel.

    • Attend bank appointment to set up basic checking accounts (bring Passport, Visa, or another government ID, and US cash of at least $100).

    • Tour apartments or homes with local agent (3-4 apartments, 5-7 SF homes).

    • Attend first half of Intercultural Training (optional).

    • Tour daycares and schools (if applicable).

    • Meet with HR to discuss internal topics (payroll, uniforms and boot vouchers, etc ).

    • Look and See closure meeting. Finalize timeline for transfer (discuss corporate housing options and any freight moves).

    • Schedule transfer travel plans for start of contract with HR (flights, rental or pool car, hotel/housing).

  • Transfer Details After Arrival -

    • Get local phone service as needed.

    • Work with HR for local ongoing transportation.

    • HR onboarding

    • Visit Social Security Office to apply for Social Security number. Need to be in the US for at least 3 days first.

    • Update bank with any contact information, Visa or Social Security number updates.

    • Visit the Department of Motor Vehicles to apply for driver’s license (within 30 days of residency in GA and 90 days in SC).

    • Obtain renters insurance and finalize utility setups.

    • Home entry walk through and key handover with Landlord. Complete home entry forms.

    • School entry. Update Immunizations as needed.

    • Attend second half of Intercultural Training (optional).

    • Receive freight container if applicable.

    • Finalize transfer with a closure phone call with Wetzel and provide feedback.
